Cupra Formentor

The Cupra Formentor is a new compact crossover SUV for 2020. Unlike the Ateca, there is no shared lineage here; the Formentor is a ‘Cupra only’ car. It does share some characteristics however with the Ateca. Same basic chassis, same gearbox and the same touchscreen infortainment centre, but that’s it.

The Cupra Formentor is edgier and better looking than the Ateca. The sloping ‘coupe’ lines give a much sportier appearance, it’s also cheaper than the Ateca. Engines start with 1.5 Litre 148hp unit, going up to the blistering 306hp 2.0 Litre, BMW X2 M35i territory. There are also plug-in hybrid options, if that’s your preference.
