The Ford Fiesta has been in production since 1976 and the 2010 model is the 6th generation (Mark VI) of this ever-popular small car. The first Ford Fiesta (Mark I) a three-door hatchback and three-door van ran from its launch in 1976 until 1983, then came the Fiesta Mark II from 1983 until 1989 but it wasn't until Fiesta Mark III was unveiled in 1988 that a radical shape-change could be seen. The fourth generation, Fiesta Mark IV, appeared from 1995 until 2002 with both three and five-door options and a new modern look. The Fiesta Mark V from 2002 until 2008 and was the first generation to include the anti-lock braking system and passenger airbags as standard. This model also featured the first of the Limited Editions and more styles and specs than ever before. The current sixth generation, the Mark VI, manufactured from 2008 until present day, appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2007 as the Ford Verve. In 2011 the Ford Fiesta will be manufactured and sold worldwide.
