Nissan Navara

The Navara is a small pick-up truck which was first introduced into the market by the Japanese car company Nissan in 1997. It is known as the Nissan Frontier in the USA, and comes with either a four or six cylinder engine, depending on the date of manufacture.

Nissan Navara sales were excellent worldwide from the truck's launch, thanks in large part to the great reputation of the manufacturer. The truck features a large choice of engines ranging from 2.4 litre to 3.3 litre V6 petrol engines, with several diesel options also available. The Navara has also varied in size during its production history - there were three versions in the 1997 - 2000 era, known as the 'King Cab', 'Single Cab' and 'Crew Cab' in order of decreasing size. There was also a special edition, featuring a King Cab base with a 4 by 4 frame and super-size wheels, enhancing its off-road capabilities and earning it the name 'Desert Runner'.

The D22 version, available new from 1997 up to 2004, was a cut down version of the Navara in terms of appearance and extras, but retained the Navara's high power engine and practical design. Discontinued in 2004, used Nissan Navara D22s can still be found today due to their high quality and durability. Since 2004 the Navara line has been updated three times to mirror changes in customer tastes in order to stay competitive, but in terms of fundamental features the line remains true to its roots.

The D40 and D62 series continue the high quality of the Nissan Navara line into the present day. The Nissan Navara continues to hold its place as Nissan's front line pickup model, and nearly new Nissan Navaras are a sound purchase for those looking for a tough and reliable pick-up truck.
