Nissan Note

The Nissan Note was first produced in Japan in 2004 but it wasn't marketed in Europe until 2006 when the UK became the first country to produce the car. Although not directly related, the Note was the successor to the Almera hatchback when it was first produced at Nissan's English factory.

Nissan Note cars are designed to be affordable, comfortable family cars. Although they are small, they have been designed to make the most of the interior space to allow for comfortable legroom and headroom, and due to the height of the car the boot has lots of space, which can be increased if the rear passenger seats are folded flat. The engine sizes range from 1.4L to 1.6L and are not designed to be incredibly powerful, but instead more economic, making the car relatively cheap to run.

Second-hand Nissan Notes can be found in a number of specifications: Visia, which is the base model, Visia+, Acenta, Acenta S and Tenka. Standard features on all models include a CD player, four airbags, remote-central locking, electric front windows and door mirrors, as well as a sliding rear seat, which is another feature that helps to maximise space. On the higher-end models more advanced features can be found such as a Bluetooth car stereo, which makes the Note even more technically advanced (though this comes with a slightly higher price tag). A used Nissan Note may be an ideal first car for a young driver who doesn't want to spend too much but would like plenty of modern features.

The Note is a great car because it is both practical and technically advanced enough to provide comfort and luxury. It is small from the outside and therefore easy to park, but large on the inside to allow for lots of shopping or luggage. It is reasonably priced and economic to run, with the option to spend a little more for luxurious features. It is therefore a rather adaptable car that is both sensible and fun.
