Nissan X-Trail

A relatively recent addition to the world of compact crossover vehicles, the nearly new Nissan X-Trail offers the size and appearance of a full-fledged SUV while retaining all the amenities of a family car. The Nissan X-Trail also drives like a family car. The Nissan X-Trail is equally adept at street and off-road driving thanks to its large powerful engine, moderate height and sturdy build.

The X-Trail was introduced in 2001 by Japanese car manufacturer Nissan, which is a company with a long and well known history of producing quality, reliable cars. The original Nissan X-Trail cars shared a frame with the Nissan Primera and Nissan Almera. The Nissan X-Trail is available with differing levels of trim, and comes with all the features expected of a modern car including electric windows and climate control, and safety features which include four airbags and remote locking. An ultra high power version called the GT Turbo was released in 2002 with a 280 horsepower engine.

The second and current generation of the Nissan X-Trail debuted in 2007 and features a slightly larger chassis and body, as well as some redesigned bodywork which gave the vehicle a more modern appearance. The revised Nissan X-Trail is available in most countries, but not in the USA where it has been replaced by a more US-centric model. The Nissan X-Trail received another cosmetic face lift in 2010. The latest redesign slightly reduces the size of the vehicle, but retains all the internal aspects.

This bright addition to the Nissan range of cars continues to be quite popular in the UK. Buyers of used Nissan X-Trails will be getting a reliable, cost effective crossover vehicle which is just as at home in the city as it is off the road.
