Renault Laguna

First launched in 1993, the Renault Laguna is a sedan suitable for large families. The second generation came out in 2000 and the latest generation made its debut in October of 2007.

When the first generation came out, it was as a substitute for the Renault 21 and it premiered as a hatchback model only. In 1995, a second version of Renault Laguna launched as an estate version. Some of the nearly new Renault Laguna models from the second generation are called the Laguna Sport Touer, which replaced the Savanna/Nevada model from Renault.

At each roll out of a new generation, the Renault Laguna line was outfitted with details that were more lavish. Most of the used Renault Laguna line comes with electric front windows, remote central locking, anti-lock brakes, twin air bags, air-conditioning, a CD player and power steering.

The Renault Laguna cars received a minor facelift in 1998 and the entire front of the vehicle sported a new design with circular fog-lights in the front and a restyling of the hatchback. The engines were updated and five new engines debuted as part of the facelift. The dTi and dCi versions are turbo charged and the dTi is a direct injection diesel, replacing the previously available 2.2D and 2.2TD versions.

The final edition of the Laguna was named the Concorde and it debuted in 2000. It was a more upscale version of previous models and it sported a highly intelligent on-board computer with voice interface, semi-leather seats and more.

After the year 2000, the Renault Laguna was replaced with an all-new model, so advanced that it won 5 stars from the Euro NCAP crash test results and is still considered one of the safest vehicles on the road. With keyless ignition, it went from earlier 7-seat configurations to a 5-seater sedan. Because of the advanced nature of the vehicle, the car manufacturer has only made cosmetic changes or updated the engine for fuel economy.
