Seat Ibiza

SEAT Ibiza cars have been in production since 1984 when the first generation Mk1 021A (1984-93) rolled off the production lines of the Spanish auto maker. It satisfies all the requirements of the European super-mini class of vehicles. SEAT claims that the vehicle is the company's best selling car to date including the second-hand SEAT Ibiza. It is considered to be the manufacturer's most popular vehicle as well based on past and current SEAT Ibiza sales. Subsequent generations of the vehicle include the Mk2 Type 6K (1993-2002), the Mk3 Type 6L (2002-08), and the current Mk4 Type 6J (2008-present).

The SEAT Ibiza was originally introduced at the Paris Motor Show of 1984 and through the vehicle's first three generations, nearly 4 million SEAT Ibizas were sold. The Mk1 offered 6 inline 4-cylinder engines, the Mk2 manufactured a total of 21 inline 4-cylinder engines (7 diesel and 14 petrol), the Mk3 offered 3 diesel and 5 petrol engines, and the current Mk4 has been manufactured with 8 petrol engines. The Mk4 also offered a 5-speed manual and 7-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox transmission. As with all other SEAT vehicles, the Ibiza has been an extremely reliable car to drive.

Although the first generation SEAT Ibiza did not win any noticeable awards, the second generation Mk2 won three distinct awards, the third generation Mk3 won two, and the latest generation has won an amazing 13 awards between 2008 and 2010. Aside from Spain, the SEAT Ibiza has won awards in Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Macedonia, and the UK. The Ibiza has been manufactured in either 3 or 5-door hatchback variations. Since 1993, SEAT has manufactured a coupe, estate, and salon version of the vehicle in order to add more diversity to the product lines and increase sales and profitability.
