Volkswagen Tiguan

The Volkswagen Tiguan made its debut at the 2006 Los Angeles International Auto Show. Named by the public in a competition (its name is a cross between Tiger and Iguana), this compact SUV from Volkswagen went into production in 2007. Volkswagen Tiguans have been through a few incarnations before the present-day model. Looking like a larger, higher version of the VW Golf, the Volkswagen Tiguan joined the 21st century 4x4 revolution late but makes up for it in striking looks, pioneering German engineering, and classic European styling.

Subsequent models of Volkswagen Tiguan cars include the SE, Sport, and Escape models, which by 2009 were refined into the sporty R Line design. By 2010, Volkswagen had launched the Match model. Engineered with a modular aluminium frame and sporty suspension, the Volkswagen Tiguan is currently available in two body styles and three different levels of specification: Tiguan Sport & Style, Tiguan Track & Field, and Tiguan Trend & Fun. In terms of their resale value, second-hand Volkswagen Tiguans are capable of achieving up to 90% of the new sale price, making them a sensible purchase.

In 2011, Volkswagen Tiguan sales had become so successful that with previous models sold out, a revamped Volkswagen Tiguan was shown at the Geneva Motor Show, and proved such a hit that 1,500 pre-orders were taken from the show. The most eco-friendly model yet, the new Volkswagen Tiguan comes with a raft of safety improvements, upgraded air conditioning, and steering wheel, lower CO2 emissions, and more miles to the gallon, as well as coming in a choice of colours and new alloys. Choose from Acapulco Blue or Toffee Brown in this practical, stylish and value for money SUV.
